CROWNS AND BRIDGES
To cover a broken tooth or to protect it against damages, crowns are an aesthetic way to restore the damaged part of the tooth. Made out of durable materials, ceramic or porcelain crowns can replace one or more missing teeth and avoid misalignment or other health problems. On the other hand, bridges are permanently fastened to adjacent healthy teeth or implants and replace one or more teeth.

DENTAL EXAMINATION
To ensure good dental health, a dental examination is generally recommended every six months. During a dental checkup, our digital radiology allows us to examine 60% of structures that are not perceptible to the naked eye which enables us to make early diagnoses of oral lesions that can cause more serious dental problems.
VENEERS
Very delicate shells affixed to natural teeth with cement or composite resin, veneers are made of ceramic or porcelain to cover stained teeth, chipped teeth, and teeth that are irregular. Veneers are also used to correct rotations, overlapping or undesirable gaps (gaps between teeth).
GUM GRAFTS
A gum graft is necessary when gum tissues are not protecting teeth from diseases and losses which can lead to a gum recession, sensitivity to cold and hot temperatures, and make teeth vulnerable to decay as its roots becomes increasingly exposed. Two different technics are offered: the removing of a thin piece of tissue from the roof of the patient’s mouth, or AlloDerm which is a regenerative dermal matrix derived from healthy human tissue without cells and blood vessels. Consult our dental expert to discuss the best technic suited for your gum graft.
DENTAL IMPLANTS
The only available method for a tooth replacement (root and crown), is a dental implant. Dental implants are done in two phases: first, the dental implant is placed, then, the crown, bridge or denture is placed. Also, dental implants, which are very close to natural teeth, stimulate the jawbone and prevent bone loss often caused by a tooth extraction or a tooth loss.
MICRO DENTISTRY
With air abrasion, dentists’ regular and noisy hand tool is replaced with new technologies such as the air abrasion or lasers. Air abrasion, also known as micro-abrasion or micro dentistry, is a new dental technology that combines a powerful stream of air and abrasive particles to prepare teeth for filling by conservatively removing decay on a tooth. This dental technology removes only the decalcified area, commonly known as “caries” or “decay”. The air abrasion is without pain, vibration, and noise. However, this technology is incomplete as a treatment method without the use of Diagnodent.
ORTHODONTICS
Dental care that corrects teeth and jaw position, orthodontics facilitate the occlusion and the development of the jawbone resulting in the optimization of the functionality and the aesthetic of the jaw. To learn more on our orthodontic treatments, consult Orthodontics in our FAQ section.
FILLINGS
There are two ways of filling caries. The first dental treatment consists of an amalgam filling (grey metal and mercury alloy), which is very considerable for good quality/price ratio, durability, and easy to place. However, the grey color might be unlikable for people, and the mercury tends to escape with mastication. Regarding this point, no studies have demonstrated that mercury causes illness to patients. The second caries restoration option is composite (white plastic resin). Some people will prefer this second dental treatment because of its aesthetic filling (same color as the healthy tooth). The composite is easy to place and is more expensive, but if a cavity is too large, the filling may wear out over time.
DENTURES
Partial or full dentures can replace one tooth or more or all teeth. The removable partial denture is held in place with metal hooks that cling to adjacent healthy teeth. The full denture, on the other hand, is necessary when all teeth are missing. This type of treatment is used when patients’ teeth do not have enough string to support a bridge or when many teeth are missing.
JOINT PROBLEM TREATMENT
Do you have problems with masticating, talking, eating, or yawning? You might have a jaw joint problem, also known as temporomandibular joint. At Centre dentaire La Vallée in Longueuil, we will evaluate your teeth, joints, muscles and general health. If you suffer from joint problems, our dentist can also proceed by taking X-rays and offering an appropriate dental treatment.
ROOT CANAL TREATMENT
Root canal treatment, or endodontic, allows you to keep your natural tooth by removing the infected dental pulp (a soft tissue that holds the nerves and blood vessels responsible for a tooth’s growth). By proceeding to a root canal treatment, your dentist will save one of your natural teeth which will avoid misaligning, other problems to your jaw or the bringing about gum disease.
GUM DISEASE TREATMENT
Parodontics or gum disease treatments, can eliminate gingivitis (inflammation of the gums, often caused by plaque deposits which procure light bleeding when you brush your teeth). If gingivitis is not treated in time, it can cause the destruction of tissue and bone supporting the teeth. In that case, it becomes a periodontal disease that leads to pain and teeth loss. Prevent gum disease by having two examinations a year at Centre dentaire La Vallée in Longueuil.
BAD BREATH TREATMENT
Halitosis, or chronic bad breath, is often related to a health problem, to medication intake, or to an insufficient dental hygiene. By consulting your dentist about halitosis, he or she will proceed to a dental examination and will analyze a bacteria culture taken from the tongue to find the origin of the problem and offer you solutions to avoid bad breath.

For a sensational smile, crowns are an aesthetic treatment which restores a broken or misaligned tooth. Made from ceramic or porcelain, crowns can replace one or more missing teeth. The bridge, on the order hand, is fixed permanently to adjacent and healthy teeth or to implants. It also replaces one or several teeth. Crowns and bridges can also procure the noble color of your original teeth.
VENEERS
Correct a broken, irregular or spotted tooth with veneers in ceramic or porcelain (tiny shells fixed to adjacent healthy teeth). Veneers are also used to correct rotations, overlapping or undesirable gaps (gaps between teeth)
DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are done in two phases: first, the dental implant is placed, then, the crown, bridge or denture is placed.
